RED
CROSS
A charity issue with a surcharge to benefit the Estonian Red Cross.
Design by Karl Triumph.
Paper: thick white wove (0.08 mm). A thinner white
paper with a mesh pattern can be found.
Gum: white and smooth. The remainders, returned to
the Estonian Red Cross, were retained in a bank in Tallinn, which
burned down in the war. The stamps were damaged in the fire - the
paper and the gum turned brownish. Some of these stamps have appeared
in the market, and these can be easily recognized.
Print: The probable printing sheet = 2 panes of 100,
separated by gutter.
Perforation: 13 1/2 x 14.
Forgeries are not known.
Proofs exist.
Valid until July 31, 1933.
