Commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Nunnery of St. Brigitta.
Design by Günther Reindorff, showing the entrance
to the convent, the ruins of the convent, a front view and the seal
of the convent.
Paper: medium thick (0.07 mm), white.
Gum: white with a light mesh pattern.
Print: Printing sheet of 200 stamps, arranged in
two panes of 100 each, separated by gutter.
All stamps have a colored protective network.
Perforation: 13 1/2 x 14.
Proofs exist (with the exception of the 10 senti).
Forgeries are not known.
Valid until December 31, 1936.
According to an agreement between the GPO and the GPW of December
11, 1935, all unsold remainders of commemorative stamps were to be
returned to the GPW, who were entitled to handle the sale of the remainders
and thereby to cover the original cost of printing. GPW offered Pirita
stamps to the public several times after 1936.
